A sad day in TV history but Barbara Windsor spilled the beans yesterday that after 15 years as Peggy Mitchell and landlady of the Queen Vic in Albert Square, she will no longer be carrying on.

She is now 72 years old and is looking to spend more quality time with her husband, her third named strangely enough Scott Mitchell.
Barbara Windsor said “I’ll be so sad to leave Peggy behind - she’s such a wonderful character to play. I’m looking forward to the future. I Should be spending more time with my old man, as he’s not getting any younger”
Her famous line as Peggy Mitchell the Queen Victoria landlady was “Get outta my pub” and she had numerous run ins with the locals who usually lost.
Barbara Windsor is also famous for her roles in the Carry On Comedy films especially in Carry on Camping where her bra pings off whilst doing camping gym classes, something she’ll always be remembered for.
Got a feeling we may still see more of her but maybe in smaller but less demanding roles as she is an icon of UK TV!

Una Healy of “The Saturdays” celebrated her 28th Birthday at London’s Club 24 on errr Saturday with the rest of her bandmates and boyfriends including Frankie Sandford.
