Getty Today was a completely different story on 1 July and Laura Robson’s luck was not in for this match against Quirine Lemoine the Dutch player. Laura Robson lost in a a long drawn out match of  over two-and-a-quarter hours final score being 6-2 4-6 8-6 . Photo Getty

She suffered injury problems throughout the match with her back being the culprit. She put up a brave fight but the injury along with the heat and the lengthy match won  the day and her bid to defend her Wimbledon girls title was overthrown. Photo: Getty

Not really her year this year at Wimbledon 2009 but she’s only 15,  will be 16 at the next Wimbledon, she has gained some limited  but extremely valuable experience playing at the senior level and 2010 could be an interesting year for Laura Robson!
